In moments of deep connection, the Soul speaks to us...

A return home... through the Jungian lens.

Moments of deep connection , however, are hard to come by, or at times, non-existent. As our minds and bodies are pulled to the tasks of daily living, they may exist in a perpetual state of disconnect from our inner nature. Not just daily tasks, but also adverse/traumatic experiences can sever the psyche from the soma. This disconnect creates a longing in us, for that which will make us whole again.

Experienced usually as an un-nameable feeling, the inner disconnect may show up in the external world as a deep resonance (love/desire as the mystics described) or resistance (hate/ disgust) towards something or someone. When unmet or denied, it can also show up as an ailment of the body (chronic aches/ disease), an emotional disturbance (depression/ anxiety etc.), relationship issues or feelings of stuckness.

Jungian Analysis is a depth based approach, that is, it focuses on using symbolic mediums like dreams to help uncover unconscious or severed aspects of our Self. As we become conscious of these aspects and work to integrate them in the fabric of our being, we can feel more like our authentic selves.

Sufi saints or mystics spoke of Divine Love as the path to inner connection/transformation. Carl Jung identified this journey that would feel like a return home to our Self, as Individuation.

About me...

I'm a nomad and an eternal learner. Born and raised in many different parts of India until my move to Toronto in 2022, new places and experiences have a way of finding me.

I love mapping new places on foot taking in sounds, smells and sights that have come to be a part of them. For me, it is an embodied way of experiencing the spirit of a new place while making it my own.

I find myself increasingly drawn to studying more about festivals of the world, the ritualistic practices connected to them and how they connect to rhythms of life. Having lived in so many different places and now countries, it's interesting to see how similarities exist within the differences.
